Problem Solving

Problem Solving and it’s importance in our day to day lives.

Problem-solving is like being a detective in your own environment. It involves noticing what’s happening around you, spotting areas for improvement, figuring out why things are the way they are, and understanding the forces at play. Then, it’s about brainstorming different ways to create change, choosing the best approach, putting it into action, and finally, watching how your actions reshape the world around you.

A teacher once surprised her students with an unexpected test. She handed each of them a white A4-sized paper with a black dot in the center and asked them to observe the paper and write an essay about it. When she collected the essays, she noticed that all 50 students focused solely on the black dot. The teacher then asked, “Why did no one write about the white part of the paper?” This highlights how, as humans, we tend to focus on the problem rather than the broader picture or potential solutions.

Every problem has a solution, and sometimes that solution can lead to an even better outcome. If a problem seems unsolvable, explore alternative approaches. If no alternatives are possible, then learn to accept, adapt, and find a way to live with the situation. When life throws lemons at us, we turn them into sweet lemonade. Similarly, when problems arise, we at Eidos prepare our candidates by training them to follow the right strategies and emerge stronger. We at Eidos, teach them to see problems not as obstacles, but as opportunities for growth.
